The Larvotto beach resort

Nestled in the eastern part of the Principality, in a neighbourhood of the same name, Larvotto Beach Resort is Monaco's stunning beach haven and a charming place to live; it was entirely remodelled and modernised in 2021. The resort will remain open during the Tour de France.

This public beach spans over 400 metres, making it the largest in Monaco. It's well-equipped with showers, toilets and changing rooms and is well-maintained (regular levelling). To ensure the safety of bathers, lifeguards are on duty every day throughout the season, jellyfish barrier nets are installed from June to September, and water quality checks are performed weekly.

With lifts, an access ramp and the Handiplage facility, the beach is accessible to everyone. There are also four private areas with sun loungers and parasols available for hire.

The beach lies alongside a split-level promenade where you'll find restaurants/bars, a bakery, an ice-cream parlour, shops (clothing, home decoration, etc.), a diving school and a sports hall. There's also a large play area for children aged 5 to 14.

With the expected disruption to road traffic and public transport (click here to find out more) on 21 July, the best way to reach the resort is either on foot (around 20 minutes from Monaco Railway Station) or by bike (there's a Monabike, a self-service electric bike station, on-site and a cycle path). Alternatively, the resort is served by city bus routes 5 and 6 (the "Plages" stop) and has two public car parks nearby: "Larvotto" and "Carmes".
